This morning, I took the plunge and purchased the Masterclass, and then spent the next hour devouring the material while thinking “This is just what I needed, not just for my Substack, but for my business in general!”

The content is so neatly chopped into edible pieces that make it simple and clear, even for someone like me whose eyes normally glaze over and brain shuts off, when presented with information that includes anything remotely technical. (Sigh)

I thoroughly recommend this Masterclass and its Masterful Presenter.

Thank you so much Wes.

Oh, I am so happy to have made your morning, Wes. There’s nothing like a good review, to do that, no? Being appreciated gives us what I call ‘Elephant Energy’ as opposed to ‘Mouse Energy.’

I actually wrote an article about that some time back. Here is the link in case you are curious.

Question for you. I'm stuck at about 100 subscribers. I want to monetize but first I've got to grow my base. Well this masterclass help with that?

Hi Diane, I would start with the Substack Growth Masterclass. This will help give you a solid foundation to grow your subscriber base faster:

Once you get a good plan to consistently grow, you can start monetizing with different methods. I always say you don't need to wait to monetize, you can start monetizing at Day 1. But, if you can grow consistently it's going to be a lot easier.

Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see how this is applicable to essayists, writers who aren’t selling or teaching.

I write poetry. There isn’t a lot of options for pay wall I wouldn’t think. So I push it for free for now. I’m not sure what other content I should be writing

Aaaand I'm subscribed. What you said just solidified my plans for this year in a “just go for it” sort of way. The price points you mentioned though were the real help in my decisions on how I should price my own things. Thank you.

Fantastic post.

And I confirm this works.

When I started my newsletter, back in November, I had zero social media presence and zero subscribers (obviously).

And yet, by January, with merely 30 subscribers, my newsletter brought me four paying clients, for my consulting services.

And their number kept on growing.

It is not the number of subscribers that matters, it is their quality.

And if you want high quality subscribers, you gotta do high quality posts.
