Can you explain the difference between a publication on Substack vs the option a writer is given when you first open the app? I don’t see a place within the app to create a unique publication with unique formatting and I’m wondering if that’s a paid-only service?

Features don't matter if your core idea is weak. Learn the basics first before chasing what advanced creators are doing.
