Hey Wes, this was super valuable to me as a new writer on Substack, especially the part about engaging in the community. I’m definitely taking a step towards this by commenting here, thank you!
Wes, thanks for sharing in abundance! There is a lot of good information! Too much for me to digest at 7:30 in the evening. Do you have anyone edit your work? Best wishes!
Welcome! Maybe I should start publishing in the morning, but this is when I write. I like to publish right after writing. I don't have anyone editing yet (but me).
I’m still at 1. Though your article gave me a new perspective on growing my substack. This is a hobby for me but I would like it to be something I can earn from in the future. Thank you for sharing your valuable insights.
Thanks for this. It’s so helpful to keep the right mindset in the middle of creating. I love the point of staying in your wheelhouse of platforms (my wording 😂😂). I stick mostly with Wordpress and Substack. You showed me my inclination was right, thanks! Btw, your writing is great. I proofread and your style is easy to read but informative. Keeps the reader going.
I'd say I'm at about a four of five. I've been here a month, I do think like a creator, rather than a writer, and I'm growing about an average of a subscriber a day. I'm not even thinking about paid subscribers at this point because I'm still new and figuring out my process. I'm not sure what needs to shift yet, because I've tried various forms of this for years. Right now I'm focused on creating good content and publishing regularly. I've got some ideas from your page and others, I'm working on incorporating them and trusting the process.

Wes! You are just going to get bigger and bigger and help more and more people. You're on fire! Super helping and inspiring article!
I like ur distinction between entrepreneur and writer.
