I also use StanStore. I love it and the UI is easy while the platform looks clean and can be brand specific. I’d love to check yours out. Who knows, maybe you’ve got something there I need. Thank you for the reply. It’s refreshing to get a straight answer.
It’s awesome that you’ve found so much success but it seems likely that your 135,000+ LinkedIn followers could have played a factor. You’ve got lots of great advice and share generously which is appreciated. I just think it’s important to be honest about what you had and created before Substack. Also, in reality can any of us actually make it work if we don’t focus on how to grow and make money on these platforms?
I’m going to keep showing up because I enjoy it. I’m already doing everything I should be but until I start talking about how to grow and make money online, I don’t think I’m going to see my financial situation change.
Don’t mean any harm. I appreciate you but I think your success is due to a bit more than you reveal.
I’ve noted that you write about it and I appreciate that. I truly do!
I got to Substack in January. It’s been life changing. I absolutely love it because I wanted to write. I also have faced a brutal job search so was hopeful (and still am) that I might generate some income here. I’m still new so will be patient but it does seem like the only way to make money online is to teach others how to make money online. Do you agree?
Great read! Quick question - You mentioned potentially turning on subscriptions soon. If your main way of monetizing is through digital products, what do you plan to offer in the subscriptions?
I'm interested in your a.i. generated images. What a.i. do you use for this, and what's the best way for me to do similar? NB: I'm not looking for a guy working on a laptop, something quite different. Any tips?
I create the images right on Substack. When you go to the image tab inside a post, click “generate.” I create all my photos that way in about two minutes.
Are they the highest quality photos? No probably not. But it’s easy and sustainable.
Another great post, Wes. Looking forward to hearing more about your approach to SEO soon.
What platform are you using for your digital products?
I use Stan Store right now. It has its flaws but it’s super easy. I highly recommend. Gumroad is also a good free option.

Seems like it would be that way, but it didn’t! About 80% of subscribers have come from within Substack (Notes, Recommendations, etc).
I write a lot about it actually if you check out some other posts.

Thanks so much for engaging with me about this!

Great actionable tips man!
How all if this apply to other fields?

I have to get ahead first and make some capital. Once I do that I would be interested in
learning about it.
Good on you for the part-time gig, but I'm not waiting my precious time reading AI slop.
