I've bookmarked this to come back to over and over again as I build my Substack. Your post is generous, asks us to value our own worth and time, and offers us a chance to get more guidance through your program. It's powerful and unpressured (no fear tactics), like you care about us and want us to reach our own decisions... lol. You've set a good example for us to follow. Thank you.

What an amazing post! You were the living demonstration of what you were writing. I will bookmark this post and return to it a few more times. Thanks for your generosity and expertise. I'll be happy to do a re-stack as soon as I figure out how to do it!

I'm just starting out and working on getting that first 100. I'm embracing the "just get started, don't wait for perfection" philosophy. Here's today's post: https://sonialuckey.substack.com/p/emotions-as-messengers-a-map-for?r=3cw2jq

Steve demonstrates in this post, he practices what he preaches, or is it: Hw preaches what he practices. Whichever, this is a generous and helpful post. Thank you, Steve.

Particularly loved the “finding the sweet spot” section. Figuring this out for my own newsletter now❤️

This advice is like finding a golf swing coach who helps you make sense of what is going on. It gives you a framework for understanding where and how you need to focus your effort. It doesn’t mean there aren’t 10k hours of reps you need to build, but it gives you confidence you are not wasting your time! Here’s my latest: https://www.macromashup.com/p/strategic-moves-what-to-buy-after?r=af3i2. It’s been a year of writing this every week. I am only just beginning to find a format and a cadence for producing and delivering this weekly content

I'm not yet done reading your post but I couldn't stop myself from commenting. This is a brilliant mini course on Substack, Wes. I mean, it's full of the right kind of information every creator would need to get started on the platform. I'm thinking of printing out a copy of this post and using it as a reference material. I'm one month into publishing on this platform and I'm enjoying writing my weekly newsletter (this has never happened before). I can say it's going to be more fun when I follow through the steps you've mentioned in this article and then start experimenting with my own ideas.
